EQUIPMENT
1 Gallon Freezer Bag
Ingredients
Add to Gallon Freezer Bag:
- 1 1/2 lb Country Style Pork Ribs boneless
- 1/2 lb Smoked Turkey Sausage Rope cut into 1-inch chunks
- 1/2 cup Diced Onion
- 2 (15 oz) cans Great Northern Beans drained
- 1 (15 oz) can Diced Tomatoes
- 1 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Minced Garlic
- 2 tsp Chicken Bouillon Base Recommend Better Than Bouillon brand
- 1 tsp Liquid Smoke
- 1/2 tsp Thyme
- 1 Bay Leaves
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
Add Day of Cooking:
- 2 cups Water
Instructions
To Freeze and Cook Later:
- Label your freezer bag with the recipe's name, cooking instructions, and date.
- Add all ingredients to the freezer bag.
- Carefully remove as much air as possible, seal and freeze for up to three months.
Slow Cooker:
- Empty the thawed contents of the bag into a slow cooker and add 2 cups Water.
- Cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 5-6 hours until the pork is fall-apart tender.
Pressure Cooker:
- Empty the frozen contents of the bag into a pressure cooker and add 2 cups Water.
- Turn the pressure to high and cook for 40 minutes, natural pressure release.
Additional Instructions:
- Remove bay leaf.
- Shred or break apart pork. Add meat back to the pot to soak in sauce before serving.
- Serve over rice or as is.
