EQUIPMENT

1 Gallon Freezer Bag

Ingredients
  

Add to Gallon Freezer Bag:

  • 1/2 lb Ground Italian Sausage Mild-Hot based on personal preference
  • 1 (15 oz) can Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 Carrots diced
  • 1 Celery Stick diced
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper diced
  • 1/4 cup Diced Onion
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Chicken Bouillon Base
  • 3 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 Bay Leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Parsley
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Oregano
  • 1/8 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

Add Day of Cooking:

  • 4 cups Water
  • 4 oz Low Fat Cream Cheese
  • 16 oz Potato Gnocchi package

Instructions
 

To Freeze and Cook Later:

  • Label your freezer bag with the recipe's name, cooking instructions, and date.
  • Add all ingredients to the freezer bag EXCEPT Potato Gnocchi, Cream Cheese, and Water.
  • Carefully remove as much air as possible, seal, and freeze for up to three months.

Slow Cooker:

  • Empty the thawed contents of the bag into a slow cooker. Add 4 cups Water and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the internal temperature reaches 165F.
  • Remove 1 Bay Leaves and break up the sausage. Add 4 oz Low Fat Cream Cheese and 16 oz Potato Gnocchi to the soup and stir until melted.
  • Replace the lid and cook for an additional 30 minutes.

Pressure Cooker:

  • Empty the frozen contents of the bag into a pressure cooker, and add 4 cups Water.
  • Turn the pressure to high and cook for 20 minutes, with natural pressure release.
  • Remove 1 Bay Leaves and break up the sausage. Add 4 oz Low Fat Cream Cheese and 16 oz Potato Gnocchi. Switch to saute setting and stir until heated, and the cream cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Top with parmesan cheese.
  • Serve with warm bread and a side salad.
