For a melt-in-your-mouth dinner, try this Tri Tip Roast, a flavorful cut of beef that’s both juicy and tender. Perfect for grilling or roasting with minimal effort!
Label your freezer bag with the name of the recipe, cooking instructions, and date.
Add all ingredients to the freezer bag. Mix well so that roast is evenly coated in spices and oil. Carefully remove as much air as possible, seal and freeze for up to three months.

Grill
Remove thawed meat from the fridge 30 minutes prior to cooking.
Preheat grill to high heat.
Sear the roast over high heat for about 2-3 minutes, until nicely browned. Flip and sear the other side for 2-3 minutes keeping the lid closed as much as possible.
Turn off the heat on the side of the grill that your meat is on and lower the other side of the grill to low heat.
Grill without opening the lid for about 20-25 minutes. Using meat thermometer inserted into the center of roast, check meats temperature and continue to cook until it reaches desired doneness (rare = 135 F, medium-rare = 145 F, medium =155 F)
Remove from grill and cover well with foil, letting it rest about 10-15 minutes before serving.
Oven:

Preheat Oven to 400 F and line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and place a oven-safe cooling rack on top.
Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add 2 tbsp olive oil. Once oil is hot, place roast in pan and sear roast for 3-4 minutes, flip and sear the other side.
Place the roast on a cookie sheet with an oven safe cooling rack. Roast in oven for about 20-30 minutes.
Using meat thermometer inserted into the center of roast, check meats temperature and continue to cook until it reaches desired doneness (rare = 135 F, medium-rare = 145 F, medium =155 F)
Remove from oven and cover well with foil, letting it rest about 10-15 minutes before serving.
Serving Suggestions:
Slice against the grain and serve with a side salad, corn on the cob, sauted green beans, twice baked potatoes or mashed potatoes.
