Lasagna Pasta

EQUIPMENT
1 Gallon Freezer Bag
Ingredients
Add to Gallon Freezer Bag:
- 1/2 lb Extra Lean Ground Beef or turkey
- 1 (15 oz) can Crushed Tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz) can Tomato Sauce
- 1/4 cup Diced Onion
- 1/4 cup Mozzarella Cheese
- 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
- 1/4 cup Part-Skim Ricotta Cheese
- 1/2 tsp Minced Garlic
- 1 tsp Dried Basil
- 1/4 tsp Oregano
- 1/8 tsp Thyme
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
Add Day of Cooking:
- 8 oz Pasta, uncooked Rigatoni Pasta, Ziti, or another favorite
Instructions
To Freeze and Cook Later:
- Label your freezer bag with the recipe's name, cooking instructions, and date.
- Add all ingredients to the freezer bag. DO NOT break up meat.
- Carefully remove as much air as possible, seal, and freeze for up to three months.
Slow Cooker:
- Empty the thawed contents of the bag into a slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the internal temperature reaches 165F.
Pressure Cooker:
- Empty the frozen contents of the bag into a pressure cooker and add 1/4 cup liquid.
- Turn the pressure to high and cook for 15 minutes, quick pressure release.
Additional Instructions:
- Break up meat and mix, allow sauce to sit for afew minutes before serving.
- Cook pasta according to package instructions. Once cooked, add to pot
- Top with parmesan cheese and serve with a tossed salad, asparagus, broccoli or another non-starchy vegetable.
